A homÅ“opath’s case history number one - eczema

Vol. 1 No. 1 March 1978 (the first issue of Homoeopathica)

Mr G. T. Curle

Four weeks after birth, young Mark developed a cold and an ear discharge. The doctor prescribed antibiotics which cleared the cold, but produced an eczema which failed to respond to further drugs. At four months, baby was in a sorry state - both eyes were red and swollen with pus exuding from the inner part of each eye. There was a yellow discharge from behind the ears, the hair was matted, the flexures of the elbows and knees were erupting a moist matter. The buttocks were in a similar condition. There was an offensive odour and a generally repulsive appearance.

8th August prescribed GRAPHITES 200 three doses only, six hours apart. 9th September, mother presented a new baby to me - a dramatic change had taken place. The awful discharge had stopped, the skin was’ now clear and healthy - only a slight, dry scale in the hair remained. No further remedy given. By 28th October the eczema had healed completely.

The following Repertory Analysis from Kent had selected the remedy:
